Gloucestershire Primary Care Training Hub commissioned The Development People (TDP) to deliver the Team Development Pathway, part of its wider Primary Care Development Pathway.
The aim was to strengthen workforce capability, confidence and communication skills across clinical and non-clinical patient-facing teams, supporting positive patient experiences and helping staff manage the everyday pressures of general practice.

PCN Team Leader Programme - South West England
Commission Outline
A Training Hub in South West England commissioned TDP to design and deliver a structured development programme for PCN Team Leaders across the region. The brief centred on building leadership confidence and capability in staff who were managing teams without prior formal development.
Proposal
TDP proposed a programme structured around practical leadership skills, team performance, and sustainable working practices. The design process included needs analysis workshops with commissioning leads and a representative group of prospective participants to ensure the content reflected the realities of PCN team leadership.
What TDP Delivered
A six-month cohort programme delivered online across multiple PCNs in the region. TDP provided facilitation, all programme materials, and ongoing cohort support between sessions. Evaluation data was collected throughout and shared with the commissioning Training Hub at each stage.
Impact
Multiple cohorts delivered across the region. Participant feedback consistently highlighted improved confidence in leadership conversations, clearer approaches to team performance, and greater awareness of sustainable working practices.
